Applications : Transmission Shaft

The transmission manually or automatically adjusts the speed of a vehicle with the objective of delivering ample torque for the vehicle's operation. Multiple transmission shafts reside in the transmission. Their configurations vary widely from application to application, but common characteristics include gears, splines and multiple bearing surfaces. Machining and subsequent heat treating, to achieve desired hardness characteristics, cause these shafts to distort. Straightening at the bearing journals, and in some cases to gear and spline pitch line diameters, must be done prior to finish grinding of the bearing surfaces.

Our straightening technologies provide both manual and fully automated solutions for straightening these parts. Additionally, our flowforming technologies can be used to produce transmission shaft blanks from tubular product.
