Technologies : Straightening

Straightening removes distortions induced by heat treating and assembly processes. In the case of machined components, the primary objective of straightening is to decrease the amount of material removal required during the finishing process, decreasing machining and grinding time. For assembled components, such as drive shafts, straightening removes excessive runouts, enhancing final application performance.

Why Hess?

Designing, engineering and manufacturing part-straightening solutions that give our customers a competitive edge has been our mission for nearly two decades. Higher Cpk requirements demand a manufacturing process that reduces waste and increases the statistical process control and traceability of parts. We offer our customers resources in engineering, project management, and support services to meet these increasing demands. Our machinery is ideal for cylindrical or flat parts and can be customized for unusual straightening requirements. Hess' automated systems offer the latest in technology and are engineered to be durable and environmentally-friendly.

Since 1992, more than 100 Hess straightening machines have been installed in North America. We build and service each machine from our Niles, Michigan location. They are designed and built to be robust, reliable and provide years of trouble-free service.
