Applications : Close Coupled Catalytic Converter

Hess Catalytic Converter

Close coupled converters, also called "light-off converters", mount on or near the engine manifold. They can provide the first step in removal of gaseous pollutants such as carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC). Each converter contains one or more ceramic or metallic substrates within a stainless steel tube. The diameters at the ends of the tube are reduced to facilitate coupling to the engine manifold and outgoing exhaust components. Termination of the ends can be symmetrical, offset or oblique to the tube axis.

Our catalytic converter machines can insert the substrate(s), size the tube, spin the ends and mark the finished product.
